Hello all! My name is Fish and I’m a black and white long-haired tabby who lives at the Country Cottage Inn, right here in Maine. My human’s name is Bizzy Baker and she can read minds. She found me a little over a year ago behind her sister’s soap and candle shop, the Lather and Light. Believe me, I was thrilled when she brought me home and let me snuggle with her next to a roaring fire, and she fed me that delicious Fancy Beast cat food.
Bizzy even lets me sleep right on top of her head at night, too. She thinks it’s cute, but I know I’m just doing my job of protecting her. If we’re both going to be asleep, I need to be right there for her. And of course, as soon as the sun comes up, I tickle her nose with my tail until she wakes up. She appreciate it too. I know this because she always gives me the same morning greeting—“Oh, Fish. Too early.” And then she usually rambles something incoherent about needing coffee. I’m pretty sure coffee is the human equivalent to catnip. Apparently Bizzy’s new fiancé is akin to catnip, too. They like to kiss a lot. Although, I don’t know why. There’s a lot of moaning involved in that activity. It sure sounds painful.
Speaking of painful, Jasper has a mutt named Sherlock Bones. And now that Jasper and Bizzy are getting married, Sherlock and me are going to be family. I’m not sure how I feel about that. Sherlock is always barking and running, and chasing, and begging for bacon. It’s going to be exhausting with him around. But I suppose I’ll have to get used to it.
He has come in handy as of late. You see, Bizzy is sort of prone to stumbling upon dead bodies. I’m not sure why this keeps happening to her, but once the homicidal dust settles, she’s always determined to find the killer. And with a little help from Sherlock Bones and me—she always does.
